Whalley Wins Canadian Little League Championship |
Whalley (Surrey), as the host team, won
the tournament in convincing fashion
going 6-0 through the tourney and
winning the championship game over the
Ontario representative from Easy Nepean
LL in 4 innings 10-0 on the strengh of
lights-out pitching, 5 big HRs and smart
baserunning.
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan represented the
prairies, and Glace Bay, Nova Scotia
represented the Maritimes plus a team
named the Lynx from somewhere in Quebec.
The dominant Whalley squad leave
tomorrow (Sunday) to Williamsport,
Pennsylvania for the little league world
series.
