a rural suffolk pub twixt woodbridge and felixstowe that is a real gem. when i was in my youth this old pub served tolly cobbold ale straight from the bar mounted casks and a game of outdoor skittles always entertained. it was the perfect stop off place when returning from the beach or sailing. nowadays it is still a good pub, but the emphasise on dining fills this place with businessmen during the week and holiday-homers at the weekend. sounds of lilting local accents have almost gone and it's once amazing atmosphere has undoubtedly been dulled by the need to fill the tills.
