Jealous, yes. But what's the story? Is this part of your work? Or do you know someone?

You get to go up there -- and they PAY YOU ??
In contrast, I'd be willing to pay an entry fee to get up there and shoot (preferably dusk or dawn or both).

My friend John "Scum" Donahue and I climbed that bridge at 4am one night in 1992 no safety cables and a few too many anchor steams. We were on the roof of our building on Broadway in North Beach and some how started trash talking each other about being too chicken to climb to the top and we drove to the on ramp and walked onto the bridge then up the suspension cable. We even signed our names at the top of the tower. Up wasn't so bad but down was terrifying!

crazy story! i had wanted to do that for years but unfortunately moved to sf right after 9/11 so those types of adventures don't happen as much as they used to.

there's a story by john law about climbing the golden gate way back when, and actually camping on top of it (written from a fictional standpoint of course ;). i can't find it now but it appears he's published a small collection of his short stories that looks like it may include this story.
