Henri Cartier Bresson (1908-2004).
In front of the headquarters of French Socialist Party. Solferino Street. May 10th, 1981.

François Miterrand has been elected for his first time as President of France!!!
A quite special "Historical Moment".

I found Cartier Bresson, with his Leica hung to the neck, 11 years later!!! (Point that must be reminded: Bresson left photographic career in 1970 (?).

Of course, he got angry and irritated for having been “the victim" of a "decisive moment".

In the photo, he is trying to get rid off the angle of my camera!
After more than two clicks in his direction, he turned his back and left until disappear!
It was his time! The hunter became the hunting!

I consider the date of his “retirement” in 1970 as a mystery.
In my opinion, that it is not true.
Was it marketing? Strategy?

Or hadn’t he just resisted in this specific date when I took this photo?

Important detail: notice that the camera he is using is a Minolta CLE!!! What about the Leica myth? Another fact rare?

Henri Cartier Bresson (1908-2004),
Fato raro ? !

a master for sure ! He has taken amazing pictures of people in France!

Ah yes, I remember my beloved Dad, told me once about him.
He's been known for his snapshot and it's amazing.

I admired Henri Cartier-Bresson since I was a alil kid, now am a mother of two, and still learn how to get the snapshot picture like Bresson (and always failed :-( ...yup no wonder am still amateur.)

Henri Cartier-Bresson using a Minolta. Wonderful. I read in a biography of his that Truman Capote described Cartier-Bresson as wearing 3 Leicas around his neck and a fourth held up to his eye when Capote met him in 1946. The guy had 4 Leicas!
