Ohikulkijat kohtasivat tiistaina Helsingin
keskustassa erikoisen näyn: 2,5 metriä
korkean hävyn.
Pyörillä kulkeva sukupuolielin on
helsinkiläisen performanssitaiteilija Mimosa
Palen lopputyö Kuvataideakatemiassa, jota hän
oli keskipäivän aikaan siirtämässä
Sörnäisistä Tennispalatsin näyttelyyn.
Silikonista ja vaahtomuovista tehty
vaaleanpunainen teos herätti ohikulkijoissa
huvittuneita ja kauhisteleviakin reaktioita.
"Mikä toi on?"
"Onko se?"
"No on se", hämmästelivät nuoret
naiset Kampin keskuksen vierustalla.
Vanhempi mies kyseli voisiko työtä koskea
ja keski-ikäinen nainen peitti silmänsä
käsillään. Hetken päästä hän kuitenkin palasi
nappaamaan teoksesta kuvan
kännykkäkamerallaan.
Taiteilija ei ollut lopputyönsä kanssa
retkellä ensimmäistä kertaa, vaan kertoi
tekevänsä sen kanssa kävelyitä pitkin
kaupunkia kolmesti viikossa.
Pale on hämmästyttänyt ohikulkijoita
Helsingissä aikaisemminkin. Talvella 2003 hän
ryömi Sörnäisissä ulos monimetrisestä,
valaistusta täytekakusta mummoksi
pukeutuneena.
Kuvataideakatemian lopputyönäyttely 3.
kesäkuuta asti Tennispalatsissa. Mimosa Pale
esittelee työtään yleisölle 2. kesäkuuta
kello 15.

It is impressive of course but I must to
admit that I found "The Meet"
aspect forced - for me Pussy is much more
