These little jewels were raised on a private farm in Richmond, Missouri. My friend, Tom Teng owns 200+ Asian pears on his land. He raises at least four different varietals. There are two on this plate.

You are a very lucky man.
My uncle in BC has an asian pear tree, and although they are very small, the juice and sweetness of a fresh picked pear is amazing. I can't imagine what it must be like to have 4 different ones as a taste test. That must have been fun!

re: SiFu Renka. Actually, there are only two varietals on this plate. The others haven't quite ripened yet - but should be ready for harvest in a few weeks. I'll report back if/when I get a chance to try them!!
