Lift-offAnd this is what it looks like when you push the release of your Polaroid camera a split second too late. Or not. It's Shannon's Oracle launch frozen in time. Piercing the frame.

Shannon preps OracleAnother good friend to join the ranks of rocketeering folk - with the flight of the D-engine Oracle, Shannon spacelebrated at the launch pad and launch controller while Justin opted to spacelebrate by sprinting after descending rockets.

Wyatt and his Shuttle XpressWyatt gets mad props for building a model rocket we featured in our first Spacelebration back in 2004 and for sporting spacey threads (see his shiny metallic jacket AND shoes.) Oh yeah and he was too quick for me to get this snapshot so he obliged my request to bend back down to pretend working on the setup of his rocket. Look at that spacelebratory joy.

Yimay's first rocketAfter attending two Spacelebrations sans rocket, Yimay decided to join the fun with a rocket of her own for Spacelebration 3. The No. 2 Estes Skywriter is a classic and she did a fine job putting it together. It launched beautifully and carried up really high. So high in fact, that it exited the park suspended from its parachute and landed on a roof along 45th Street where it may rest to this day, about a week thereafter.
