President of France arrives at Parliament
Speaker of the House of Commons, Michael Martin MP, and Lord Speaker in the House of Lords, Baroness Hayman, welcome President of the French Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy, and his wife, Carla Bruni, inside Sovereign’s Entrance of the Palace of Westminster.
The French President came to Parliament to address Members of both Houses of Parliament during his State Visit in March 2008. President Sarkozy is the seventh French President to give a formal address to Members of both Houses.
