thank you. i got it made at a framers. he had put in a natural wood finish which was too light. I got him to make it darker and give it a matt finish. still too distracting. i think it is the grain in the wood. wishing i had stuck with the original cream mat + frame formula. I'm planning to sand it to see if that makes it any better! :D
