Ballet and MACS at Pleasantview Care Facility |
On Sat, June 16 2012, an enthusiastic
audience greeted a small group of
schoolchildren volunteering at
Pleasantview Care Facility in Mission.
The recital was the culmination of a 16-week project in which the girls and seniors learned ballet together, filmed as part of a documentary by the Media and Communication Studies (MACS) department at UFV.
The MACS students were involved in the project as part of a directed studies; they will be editing over 400 hours of film into a documentary this summer. The final film will describe the relationship between the children and the seniors as it developed over 16 weeks.
