Tossa de Mar is a popular seaside resort at the mediterranean Costa Brava (Rugged Coast or Wild Coast) of Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in a bay between steep cliffs on one of which still towers the medieval castle of Tossa de Mar. The historic centre of Tossa is surrounded by an old town wall and is the only remaining fortified medieval town at the Catalan coast.
Tossa de Mar with its smaller hotels and guesthouses doesn't have that slightly bad reputation as party location for teenagers like the neighbouring Lloret de Mar has with its many giant hotel blocks, discotheques and clubs.
Costa Brava holiday April 2009.
