Bakfiets - a friend to wholesalers

Bakfiets - a friend to wholesalers by ubrayj02.
In an era of energy shortages, one bike stands alone in its capacity to enable 'mericans to consume boxes of cookies, pallets of toilet paper, and Kirkland underpants: the Azor bakfiets.

Do you endure a lot of motorist harassment riding that in LA?

Quite the opposite, since a bakfiets is so completely novel here I get way too much friendly attention and curious questions. It actually gets a little wearing sometimes to constantly answer "Where did you get it?", "Did you make it?" "Is it hard to ride?" when you're running to the store with your kid to get a bag of apples and toilet paper.

I ride it mostly like a car - I take the lane and all that, but I stick to smoothly paved, relatively quiet streets, when possible with my daughter.

When I'm by myself, or carrying a load, I haul ass on all the major streets I normally use.

Huh. That's awesome. I'm not too familiar with the road realities of riding in LA, so I was curious...

And I've only seen one (maybe two) here in nyc... Pretty novel here, too.
