text girl

    Newer Older

The wife asked this girl if we could take her picture (I certainly would have felt creepy going up to sixteen year old kids asking if I could take their picture). She nodded and kept texting away. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... next generation communication is the most accurate way to split out microgenerations. I'm from the old-school e-mail generation. I'll happily set my e-mail at work to refresh every five minutes, and I'm happy to check it and respond to it. The wife is more from the IM generation. I just don't get the impulse of immediate IMs. Seems a little rude to me. Then there are these goofy kids and their texting. They make me feel like Grandpa.

You have to admit, Jeremy, that sometimes texting is the best way.

How did you get 1/6th of a second so crisp? Tripod? Or are you just that steady?

I suppose texting is awfully convenient... only as a last resort, though. As for the slow shutter speed, that would be a combination of luck, shake reduction, and a rare moment of being steady.

They can only see as far as their opposable thumbs until they walk into you going down the sidewalk. They miss a lot.
