Blaze was installed on his perch on the Bartow Arena Concourse, and the statue officially was dedicated April 29.

Now finished, Blaze is to be delivered to the UAB campus Friday, April 25 and a dedication is scheduled Tuesday, April 29.

A fog machine inside the Blaze’s belly will produce the smoke-breathing effect.

Blaze's concrete form was built from scratch using concrete rebar and lathe wire.
