One Sided Traffic

One Sided Traffic by Proggie.
China 2006: Day 4: Beijing: Traffic in Beijing is pretty bad, depending which direction you're going, and at what time. As you can see there is lots of construction going on as well, the cranes might as well be China's national bird as someone in our group quipped :)

What struck me most about the traffic in China was not so much the volume, but the controlled chaos. Cars, buses, bicycles, scooters, and pedestrians were going in all directions, disregarding traffic lights and sings, cutting each other off, weaving in and out, and performing maneuvers that drivers in Vancouver would have heart attacks over. Yet in China it seemed to be normal and expected, and nobody got angry or even lifted a finger.

For instance we were the only ones scared when our bus went a few kilometers against traffic on a highway after the bus driver did a U-turn after taking the wrong exit.
