141/365 walking the fence

141/365 walking the fence by ~Twon~.
So I have to vote in the RI Primary this tuesday... this excites and angers me because, for the first time ever, I get to cast a political vote that will actually have an impact on something! See, I am from RI and we are a blue state through and through (not a problem), however it makes voting almost pointless.

...and we won't even get into my hatred of the Electoral College and Delegates...

But for once, this tuesday, my vote will actually mean something since the Primary elections are as close as they are. And that in turn affects the whole election. My only problem is, I'm still undecided about who's getting my vote. I like them both really, but I'm leaning towards Obama at this moment.

But I'm really not sure which way to go. I'll know by tuesday I hopes. But I've been talking about it to a few people today and they're all in the same boat I am, alot dealing with the conflict over voting for the person they moreso like vs. the person who would be more likely to win.

I wish my one vote that matters could be clear simple and concise so I could march in the streets about it! I don't even have a bad guy to rally against; McCain isn't even horrible. He's the most moderate out of all of them! But alas, you don't vote in a person, you vote in a party.

So I will have to watch speeches and ask around more and see if anyone can sway me, we shall see...

I'm a Barack girl, but I couldn't really find ANY candidate that just stood out and hit me going 'wow'. I had to do a TON of research before I finally settled on him...I toggled between Hillary, Barack and Rudy at the very beginning...McCain is a respectable man, but he is so much older. Worries me. Plus, his politics aren't me...

I had a long talk with my mom. I'm pretty sure I need to vote for the person I want rather than the person I think will win.

Sway!

Your vote should be for who you want. You never know how it could go.

Thats just my opinion.

random: I thought Hillary had one "L" and Barack had two "R"s, but you spelled them correctly.
I like the mini wooden animals who are watching in eager anticipation for who you will ultimately choose.

I am with you man.
my vote would go for Hil but in all realism I think Obama would stand a better chance of winning when it came down to it. so do you vote for who you like if that person wouldn't really win? or vote for the second best choice who would stand a better chance... because does it do any good to vote for someone that wouldn't really win?

BTW in MI I had no hard decisions. only Hil ran here.

I never vote because I never spend time paying attention to what they are standing for. So good for you doing what us lazy, indifferent assholes can't/won't do.

I love it when campaigns gun for the citizens who don't usually vote. Like it's a good thing to have the future of the country decided by people who are usually too lazy or apathetic to raise their hand. I'm not saying that's you, but the last comment made me think of that.

Personally, I'm one of those countless unrepresented "socially liberal, economically conservative" folks. There are tons of us out there; we'd all be Libertarians if the Libertarian party weren't typically run by a bunch of anarchist nut-jobs.

Not being associated with a party, I don't get to cast a primary vote in Texas anyway.
