Circular Tire Tracks on Highway 9

    Newer Older

These tire tracks were found on California Highway 9 in the Santa Cruz mountains. This is a windy two-lane highway and not a very safe place for goofing around with vehicles, but it made a great design. It was near dusk and I did not have a tripod along, so this was cleaned up some with Paint Shop Pro.

This photo has been published in Scott Berkun's book The Myths of Innovation which "takes a careful look at innovation history, including the software and Internet Age, to reveal how ideas truly become successful innovations-truths that people can apply to today's challenges. Using dozens of examples from the history of technology, business, and the arts, you'll learn how to convert the knowledge you have into ideas that can change the world." This is crazy (and suicidal) ! It´s difficult to imagine someone doing this stunts in a highway... that would also be a great scene to capture.

I see what you mean by the similarities! But, wow, does this one win in terms of quantity of crazy skid marks!

This is one of the most interesting photos I've seen in a long time and I just returned from touring the Getty Center and LACMA, which are loaded with great photography!
