Howells department store was used in the filming of the last Dr Who series. It is the store that Rose works for in the first episode and is blown up after the Dr finds it riddled with creatures that look like they should be in a Herbie Hancock music video.
If anyone fancies a Dr who tour 'round cardiff then I'm yer man.
