Doctor [87/365]

Doctor [87/365] by TwinKnit.
I have a super goofy look on my face, but love the color.

I really hated to give back my regalia. Especially the hood. I'd wear the hood around forever.

Woo-Hoo! That's so exciting :) If only I had the fortitude to go for the PhD, but I think an MS is about all I can manage.

Ooh thank you THANK YOU! It feels good, if a bit surreal, to be done. I spend my days kniting now (and playing with my shiny red kitchen-aide mixer, my graduation present from the 'rents).
No, they don't let me keep it, which is a damn shame. If i stay in academia, I might get myself one, just 'cause it's so purty.
it was a long haul and, if I were asked to do it again, I'm not 100% positive that I could/would want to. But i proud of myself for doing it, and I think that's what really matters.

Did they make you rent the hood and gown or did you just opt for that (understandable, if you did -- they're not inexpensive!)? I'm just wondering because we had no other option but to buy ours. (And it's come in handy for Harry Potter-themed costumes, so clearly it was worth it!)

I'm happy to hear that a PhD comes in handy for SOMETHING!! :) (love the idea that PhDs everywhere dress up as HP, because they can.)

YAY, Jennie! I'm so excited for you!!! The regalia suits you well, I'd say. I'm so disappointed that I did not get to meet you this weekend but *sigh* I guess getting your PhD (and pneumonia?) is better... NEXT time for sure!
