Quality vs Slashiness

Quality vs Slashiness by Tom Anderson.
Someone did a couple of polls about how (a) good and (b) slash-worthy various TV shows and films were:

thefourthvine.livejournal.com/99145.html?#cutid1

Someone else then made some graphs of the results:

lolitakun.livejournal.com/6064.html

But of a totally inappropriate type, and really just not using enough science. I have therefore made another graph. This is scatter plot with quality as the ordinate and slashiness as the abscissa, with error bars showing the standard error of the mean.

As you can see, there's no real correlation between quality and slashiness.

I'm happy to provide the data and analysis behind this - just leave a comment or send me a message.
