I found a bunch of my early photography while looking through photos for my Uncle's funeral. This was shot with an old Polaroid "Swinger" that I picked up at a garage sale for fifty cents.

I was 11 years old or so at the time which makes me, the camera and the photo "antique". I think I like the words "vintage" or "classic" better though.

We were following an intense band of thunderstorms during the second leg of our journey to Conni's house in Connecticut. There was hazy sunshine behind us, ominous clouds ahead of us, but we never encountered any rain until we reached the New York border.

Preston Hollow was filled with fresh puddles, rain-slicked textures, and steam was rising off the asphalt creating a soft, aged-looking light.

We called Conni from this spot, and she said things were flying by her window from the storm. I'm so glad the only things flying by our window was the bucolic scenery.

Mwah!!!

Even when life comes at you with stress and difficulty, there is humor to be found.

Great-aunt Rose (on the left) was released from the hospital yesterday but will be spending a few weeks at a nursing home for physical/occupational rehab before she can return home. Of course she wasn't very happy about the idea at all.

The good news is that the nursing home is a block from our place, and two blocks from her home. Bill, my dad, and I were with her today during her first session with her physical therapist; she did great!

Bill and I decided to grab a quick bite to eat back at our place while Aunt Rose was finishing up.
I just started to eat when Bill turned on the radio and this song began to play. Chicken salad leaves a lot to be desired when it flies out your nose with laughter!

Yeah, life is strange, life is good, life is all that it should be. :~)

A hot cup of coffee, reading sweet comments from last night, viewing a couple of flickr-friend's sunrise photos this morning, all the while listening to Donna the Buffalo with Jennie Stearns, makes it that much "gooder".
