The Tibetan monestary was colorful and welcoming though...

The bus broke down, conveniently just across from this monastery. by tuxedotravels
By the next morning it was colder and still snowing... by tuxedotravels
...and the sleeper bus was uncomfortable, smelly and still broken. by tuxedotravels

...then it was given to the ladies who chopped it into pieces and cooked it. by tuxedotravels
By this point the engine was fully dismatled on the ground. by tuxedotravels
By the 3rd stranded day the snow had mostly melted... by tuxedotravels
...but no one could put the engine back together. by tuxedotravels
They're always far easier to take apart than reassemble. by tuxedotravels
So Doug went to check out the construction site... by tuxedotravels

...which included painting a supporting beam's flowers. by tuxedotravels

The monk's motorcycles were the holy hot sauce! by tuxedotravels
End of Day 5 - the engines were wrapped in tarps... by tuxedotravels
...and the inside of the bus looked even worse. by tuxedotravels
So we flagged down another bus and got the hell outta there! by tuxedotravels
Finally leaving our twisted mountain prison! by tuxedotravels
Soon the new bus hit snow in a 5000m tall pass... by tuxedotravels
...which offered a pristine white landscape. by tuxedotravels
