My life in Seattle has taken very deep root. This place, my nook in this neighborhood of Capitol Hill, has become such a home for me. I am in love. With this place, with these people. I can see myself building my life in Washington.

All of this sounds completely crazy. Hell, only a few months ago, I didn't even know how I felt about leaving Colorado at all.

But I am thankful. I am so thankful for this opportunity that I have been given, by my parents, my job, my school, and the companies that have given me money so I can be here and get an education.

This place.

This place is lovely.

We went to Rudy's to get the blond cut out of Calvin's hair. His black hair is very short now, but every girl on the 4th floor has high hopes for his luscious locks once they grow out.

The composition of this photo was a surprise. Before, Dakota had been sitting in the corner beside Calvin, and after looking at the setup of the chairs and the strangers flipping through their hefty magazines, I told her to go sit on the other side, and pretend that she was reading as well.

It wasn't until I stepped back, dodging the stylists and customers, and looked through the viewfinder that I realized that I hadn't asked Calvin to hold a magazine. It hadn't even occurred to me. But I immediately fell in love with the setup. Calvin had made some funny faces in the earlier frames, but I like this one best.
