Book cover design for this competition.
Unfortunately, as I am not resident in UK I cannot take part in the
competition.
But as I really like the concept of crowdsourcing and as I am a regular reader of Wired magazine as well as the
Creative Review, I created this piece as a friendly salutation to the
guys in these great publications.
The mosaic illustration is made with hundreds of croped portraits. All non croped images are downloaded from one of the first crowdsourcing photo sites, the Stock Exchange and are given away without restrictions.
The mosaic is made in Synthetik Studio Artist, Adobe Photoshop and
Apple QuickTime Pro with custom developed scripts. Final layout is
made in Adobe Illustrator.
Special thanks to Joe Dalton, the developer of Studio Artist and Dave Nagel, who's tutorials, SA paint patches and plug-ins in www.creativemac.com have helped me enormously building a solid background for my mosaic
experiments. I really miss his excellent articles there.
Typeface used is PF Agora Slab Pro, designed by Panos Vassiliou and distributed by Parachute Fonts.

Additional credit must go to my friend Isidoros Koliavras for providing me some good food for thought, as well as some useful tools for my mosaics.
