Craig Newmark is one of the most intresting people of Silicon Valley.
Recently I wrote an article about him and his Craigslist on the greek computer magazine "RAM". This image was the main illustration.

I have NO secret at all!
You will need a Mac and Synthetik Studio
Artist. Then you must make a text brush and
play with the Brush modulation paremeters in
the Graphic Synthesizer sector of the
program.
It's not too easy, but not too difficult.

An alternative is to try to find shareware or
freeware for ASCII Art. There is software
like Email Effects that convert images to
lines of characters.
Studio Artist on the other side is a more
sophisticated tool.
