No tripod, but instead I placed the camera on the stone balustrade at the balcony. Very convenient and steady support, plus I didn't have to cary it around all day.

The flatness of the light here, and sublimated shadows, gives this a quite extraordinary almost two dimensional effect.
It reminds me of one of those strange visual illusions of the apparently ever-ascending stairs.
An exceptional photograph.
Please don't retire the Hasselblad too soon!

With all the arches and straight lines, verticals and horizontals, this is wonderful in black and white. The flatness of the lighting seems to glorify the three-dimensionality. Very, very nice.
