Bourvil
French postcard by La Roue Tourne, Paris, no. 1095.
Bourvil (1917-1970) was a French actor and singer. During the Second World War, he started as a comedian and musical clown in cabarets ad on the radio. In the 1940s he also started his film acting career: in addition to many comical parts, he also played classic character roles. His best-known film performance he gave as the friendly-naive counterpart to the explosive characters by Louis de Funès in the latter's films.
