Short version: If I'm willing to participate in an organization that is still largely "1.0" and populated with traditional librarians, why can't traditional librarians put aside their fears and perfectionism and choose to participate in social software/web 2.0 activities in their libraries?

This is great and I totally agree with you on your comments. I've been a member for years of groups that include librarians and have many librarian contacts. I regularly follow about 6 librarian bloggers (and did you know there are a number who belong to flickr?) And I am not a librarian, but a teacher. Send this to the librarian groups here on flickr, pronto! Glad to see this photo in 3-2-1 just now.
