- An Amsterdammertje is the typical red-brown steel bollard that is used to separate the sidewalk from the street in Amsterdam. Amsterdammertje means literally 'little one from Amsterdam' in Dutch. The bollards have the three Saint Andrew's Crosses from the coat of arms of Amsterdam.
It’s snowing in Amsterdam
Okay, okay I know this isn’t what you call a news flash, it’s been snowing in Amsterdam for about 3 week already but it was the first time I was able to take my canon out for hunting. This was actually a stupid think to do (cycling trough Amsterdam). All the streets have turned into ice and people have actually been ice-skating on the streets where cars usually drive. After a lot of slipping and sliding I came through unscaved. I’ve even been able to walk on the frozen cannels of Amsterdam, this was a first for me and I really enjoyed it. There where some big cracks and soft spots but I kept it dry.
I hope you all are enjoying the weather in your location whether it hot or cold.
