Lemonade, anyone?

Lemonade, anyone?

An unattended lemonade stand on the eerie Moon Plain, 16 km north of Coober Pedy. A couple of half-full bottles of water (?) were available behind the counter.

I couldn't tell why but I felt that this surreal little stall fitted quite well in the landscape.

The dog fence, the longest fence in the world, can be seen on the left side of the image.

(No Bike or Scooter) on Footpath

(No Bike or Scooter) on Footpath

A whited-out no cycling sign on a footpath in Sheffield, the Town of Murals

Just a few seconds before I pressed the shutter button, a kid zipped past me on his bike.

Sounds from the Past

Sounds from the Past

A broken piano in Gwalia, a ghost town and a historical gold-mining town in Western Australia.

Gwalia began its life in 1897 with the beginning of mining at the "Sons of Gwalia" gold reef, of which the first manager was one Herbert Hoover. Population began to grow as the mine developed, with workers camping near the site, living in tents and shanties built with wood and corrugated iron. At its peak, the town had a population of over 1000, but when the mine was closed down in 1963, the town was abandoned almost overnight.

A gable dormer in North Terrace, Adelaide

A gable dormer in North Terrace, Adelaide

A brown gable dormer with a pointed-arch window and a floral-shaped decoration, found on the tiled roof of a building near the SA Museum. Spots of green lichen could be seen on the roof.

I found this quite cute.
