Scottish riot line.

Scottish riot line. by treviño.
This is a closeup shot of a line of Scottish riot police, deployed to preserve order in Edinburgh, Scotland, during the protests against the G-8 meeting in July 2005. I had to run in front of a line of anarchists and protestors to get this shot. The faces of the policemen are striking. Note that the one on the left is speaking into a small microphone. Shortly after this shot was taken, the line charged, forcing the crowd -- and me -- back quite a distance.

I wish these guys had been around when I was a young copper in Edinburgh - all these many years ago.
