Uuuhhhh, little guy, you know there is more to this cage! (Fact: Hamsters gnaw on the bars of their cage when they are bored. ;-?)

I don't think that's always true, as there must be more to it - he only knaws his bars in this area and not anywhere else in his cage - and this is his door to get out and play, he knaws his bars when he wants to run around try and find an escape from the room!

and he's not knawing his bars right now, he's getting his brazil nut from between the bars

when it gets used to a new arrangement it doesn't get lost (it doesn't always go the quickest route to get somewhere though), it's only been in this one about 1 hour and after running about a bit it's gone to bed - all that excitment must have been too much for it

but once it found where it's food room was this time it could get back there pretty quick, so I guess it does work out where everything is

once had a basic rota stack set: as poor old hamster got older he found it more and more difficult to climb and ocassionally would "free fall" throught he tubes.....

on the note of getting lost, afer 36 hrs in the new cage and it hadn't taken any food out of it's food bowl I came to the conclussion it hadn't found where it got fed yet, so I put it back in the cage there where it happily emptied out it's food bowl and ran back to it's food store to keep it all there, it then tried to come back to it's food bowl room, and got so close but couldn't quite remember the trick to get back there, so I once again had to shove it in the right direction.

it does understand now and has been back a few times just to check no more food has been put in - it's getting the hang of the new cage slowly but surely
