Small tree on the porch

Small tree on the porch by trekkyandy.
I made this Christmas tree! Seriously! I took a couple of tomato cages out of the garden, turned them upside down and put lights all the way around it. Then I put the garland on it. Put the Angel on top and there you have it, a Christmas tree.

My family isn't big on Christmas trees. I'd like to have a nice big tree but I do agree that they are a lot of work and upkeep, even the artificial ones.

I GIMP'd this photo obviously to only show the colors of the tree.

Nice job, Andy. We have two artificial trees out in the shed, but I doubt we'll get 'round to putting one up this year. It's so late in the season, and it's a bit of a chore to deal with. I'd make something like what you've got here if I had the stuff to make it.

Sorry for not responding to you sooner shawnogram, during the time you commented my DSL was down and I was on dialup so I missed a few comments. Sorry about that. My younger sister had one up in her bedroom and we never did put up another one. We're not big on Christmas trees around here. They are pretty but they are most certainly a chore. My grandparents have one of the optical fiber trees that is approximately 2 foot tall. They like it because they can pull it out of the box, plug it in and when Christmas is over they can put it back in the box. They normally don't even put it out until Christmas day.

I think I responded to you via IM erich_in_id, thanks for your comment, again.

Great picture! I chose this image to appear with an article I wrote at www.whereyouarenow.com/blog. By the way, I love that you made this tree out of tomato cages....would you be interested in doing a guest post on my website detailing how you did this? It is a personal finance blog and I believe that you making a Christmas tree falls within the frugality category! let me know if you'd be interested!! Thanks again for an awesome picture.
