I was all in position to try to get my one and only shot of the Reading Depot fuel tanks when I got the gen to say it wasn't happening... SouthWest Trains Class 458 (4 JOP) EMU 8005 passes Palmer Park between Earley and Reading with a London Waterloo to Reading service.

Just a few minutes after leaving the Great Western Main Line at Twyford station, Class 165 DMU 165121 trundles along the single track line towards Henley-on-Thames having just stopped at Shiplake station to collect a solitary passenger and drop off another two.

HST Class 43 power car 43013 leads 1Q19, a Plymouth to London Paddington Network Rail test train, through Twyford Station. 43014 is on the rear.

Another one from the archives... An unidentifed BR Blue Class 31/4 leaves London Kings Cross station with Empty Coaching Stock. Amazing that you can still find a BR Blue Class 31 operating regularly on the main line almost 25 years later! One of the last remaining HSTs in the original Blue/Grey livery is in the background. Why didn't I take a photo of that too? Scan from negative.

Southern Railway rebuilt Merchant Navy Class Pacific 4-6-2 35028 "Clan Line" works hard up the gradient from Virginia Water towards Chertsey. The train a VSOE Luncheon Special dining charter, taking in a circular tour of Surrey from London Victoria.
