HP Mini 1000 / BlackBerry Curve Comparison [20090102_21]

HP Mini 1000 / BlackBerry Curve Comparison [20090102_21] by treehead.
My wife got me the new HP Mini 1000 "netbook" for Christmas. I have only been using it for a few days now, but thus far, I have not found any flaws. I wanted this system to read documentation, e-books, PDFs and other documents with, as well as do some web surfing, e-mailing, and administration of other systems on my network.

I had two main concerns about getting this laptop. First I was not certain how fast the processor and disk access were going to be. I was pleasantly surprised to find that both are very quick. The second thing I wondered about was how hot it would get. Some reviews I had seen suggested that the bottom of the system would bake my legs, but I have not had any issue with heat so far. Granted, I am not taxing the processor as much as a stress test would, but for general use the system is warm and makes no noise whatsoever.

As it stands, I cannot more highly recommend this system.
