• Italian Expedition that came back from G-2 (I think). Notice how they fit into just 2 'grooves' of the glacier. You lose sense of scale up there!
  • Southern face of K2, the second highest mountain in the world at 8611m; the northern face is in China
  • Broadpeak (8047m)
  • Godwin-Austen Glacier (5000m+), leading up to K2; that's a 5 hour trek to K2 across just this glacier without backpacks. Then 5 hours back to Concordia
  • Further on, is the Conway Saddle where Pakistani and Indian armies are camped out at 6000m, watching over the tenous line of control. The Pakistani soldiers we met said the wives of the Indian officers wave at them and tease them from across the line.
  • The West-Vigne Glacier coming out at you and heading south
  • if this is K2, shouldnt it be taller? - *3Third Avenue*
  • It is taller but but looks lower because it is farther from the point the picture was taken. Besides, you can't see the peak because of the clouds.
  • Concordia - point of meeting of the Baltoro Glacier, the Godwin-Austen Glacier and the West-Vigne Glacier
  • Gasherbrum IV (7925 m)
