RENFE: Valencia & Ciudad Rodrigo
Valencia had two main stations, Termino (Norte railway) and Alameda (Central of Aragón railway). The Central of Aragón Railway (Compañía del Ferrocarril Central de Aragón) ran from Valencia via Sagunto to Calatayud with a second line branching off at Caminreal which went to Zaragoza.

During a brief visit to Valencia we found our way to Alameda engine shed where we talked our way in past the gatekeeper. We managed to photograph most of a line of withdrawn, but interesting steam locos, before being apprehended by an armed guard and escorted from the premises!

Valencia-Alameda station closed in May 1968 and the engine sheds were then used to store withdrawn locos until at least 1971.

The other two photos in this set were taken close to Ciudad Rodrigo while we were driving from Madrid to Portugal. We spotted a 141F on a mixed train, stopped to take a photo and then made a swift u-turn to head back to a viaduct that crossed the road where we just managed to get another shot.
