On an overcast and muggy Sunday, thousands of people arrived and departed Almaty 2 station on the passenger trains of Kazakhstan Temir Joli, the national railway system. The locomotive in the photo was built in 1990 in the former Soviet Union, now Russia, at the Novocherkasski Electrovostroyini Zavod (Novocherkassy Electric Locomotive Works).
