No, Pittsburgh isn't spelled wrong. The Pittsburg and Shawmut Railway was incorporated when "Pittsburg" was the correct spelling, early in the 20th century. The Reading Company T-1 4-8-4 locomotive still exists, in eastern Pennsylvania, but this part of the Pittsburg and Shawmut has been abandoned. 1972

This photo brings back many memories as I had the opportunity to ride this line with ex-Reading RR T-1 # 2102 from Kittanning to Brockway "in the 70's". The line was characterized by many high trestles, many of which remain in the Brookville area today, now operated by the Buffalo & Pittsburgh RR. This is a superior view with excellent composition and impact. Riding a train is great, but you have to be outside to photograph a scene such as this. Great photo!

A fantastic piece of history here; the autumn foliage framing creates a warm frame and increases the depth. That is some RR bridge. I recently visited the RR Museum in Strasburg; very educational and enjoyable.
