The bus of the future, here today

The bus of the future, here today by trainman74.
The buses running on Los Angeles's Orange Line are a brand-new model, 60 feet long and articulated, with three entry/exit doors and no farebox (the Orange Line is being run the same way as the rest of L.A.'s rapid transit lines, with ticket machines at stations plus random checks by fare inspectors).

Putting one of those ugly bike racks on the front? That would ruin the nice clean design of the new bus!

There are bike-holding straps in at least one spot inside the bus. However, they require folding a seat up, and I'm not sure bicyclists would get as much sympathy from seated passengers as wheelchair users do.

In fact several of them do have bike racks on the front. I'd rather the bikes be on the front than have to stand becasue some ass has been selfish enough to take his bike inside during rush hour.

Despite its modern appearance, it's just as loud and uncomfortable as any thirty year old Speed style bus honking around Los Angeles, London or Berlin.
