Multi Monitor Mahem by totalAldo.
2005 Computer Setup. Two computers power the 9 displays. The laptop runs Windows and the desktop runs FreeBSD and Gnome. Synergy allows the user of one mouse and keyboard to control input devices on both machines via the network. (Yes, I used an ssh tunnel for the synergy connection). The slow draw rate on the lower monitors caused me to later consolidate them into 2 larger monitors powered by one graphics card instead of the 3 cards used here.

Nice monitors, but I think the setup of them could be done way better.

I agree, thats why I've moved to 4 monitors now. A proper monitor rack would have been better as well. I was just using the base of the monitors in that configuration and it worked out very comfortably as I rarely spread items across screens but rather used them to display more information without having to minimize windows.

LifesSweetDrug, the current setup is less cluttered and ultimately more efficient for me: www.flickr.com/photos/totalaldo/2400635097/

I used to develop on them. I'd use the screens to separate web browsers, coding environment, terminals ( to look at logs and access remote servers) and email. No minimization required.

Thanks for licensing your photo for re-use. I used it (with credit) to illustrate an answer to a question about "How are screen sizes of mobile phones and monitors measured??"

It's a really attention-getting image.
