Lopes Mendes, Ilha Grande
![]() Lopes Mendes, the beach pictured here, is described by many as one of the most spectacular stretches of sand in Brazil. Its secret lies in its whiter than white sand and the total and complete lack of any buildings on its 3 kilometres. And yes, as my friend L Plater mentioned on the comments, white sand is really difficult to photograph. Particularly when you have a dark object and what to keep all the details. I tried my best but couldn't rescue much detail on the sand.
But walk till the end of the beach and you'll find a piece of machinery that came from an oil rig and ran aground here (it's quite large, about 2 meters high). An artist had the great idea of decorating the piece of junk with mosaic. I like the result. Commentsmacfacizar
