La central nuclear de Cofrentes, en Valencia, (Requena)
registra nueve incidentes en un mes...

La central nuclear de Cofrentes (en Valencia) ha sufrido nueve Incidentes a la Seguridad Nuclear (ISN) en un mes, entre el 24 de febrero y el 28 de marzo pasados, período en el que la planta se encontraba parada debido a una fase de recarga de combustible.

Cofrentes está realizando actualmente una serie de modificaciones para incrementar la potencia de su reactor al 110%, y siete de los incidentes detectados han tenido lugar en las pruebas para incrementar dicha potencia (en cinco de los cuales se han registrado paradas automáticas del reactor).

Además, los inspectores residentes del Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (CSN) han detectado deficiencias que no habían sido notificadas por la central al único organismo español con competencias en seguridad nuclear y protección radiológica.

Para los directivos de Cofrentes, los técnicos del CSN son los culpables de los incidentes registrados, "por estar poniendo nerviosos a los técnicos de la central con sus inspecciones", añadiendo, según fuentes cercanas al caso citadas ayer por El Mundo, que "era preciso que tuvieran más confianza y dejaran trabajar a la gente".

Según Carlos Bravo, responsable de la campaña de energía nuclear y desarme de Greenpeace, "esta actitud de Cofrentes de presionar a los inspectores cuando hacen algo que no les conviene, es muy preocupante, y especialmente grave si el CSN volviera a transigir, como en ocasiones anteriores, con la dirección de Cofrentes en lugar de hacer prevalecer la seguridad, que es su función".

De los incidentes registrados, el más relevante ha sido "la vulneración de la integridad de la contención secundaria", según Bravo, fruto de la prisa de la planta nuclear "para arrancar de nuevo la central [tras la parada de recarga de combustible], lo que ha llevado a cometer serios errores, entre ellos vulnerar de forma grave varias normas de seguridad", añadió, como en el caso de introducir conexiones eléctricas a través de válvulas rompedoras de vacío en la contención secundaria, que, según Bravo, debería dar lugar a un expediente sancionador del CSN.

De hecho, los dos inspectores residentes del CSN en Cofrentes levantaron actas de inspección sobre el caso de la contención secundaria, lo que normalmente debería dar inicio a un expediente sancionador, ya que los inspectores no suelen levantar acta a no ser que se inicie alguna acción administrativa.

Hola amigo;

Veo que dominas el tema y que no eres el tipico que dice que las nucleares contaminan mucho porque tiran humo blanco radiactivo por las torres esas gordas que llevan.

En mi opinión no existe hoy en día ninguna alternativa factible a la generación nuclear. Se trata de una energía totalmente limpia para la atmósfera y segura si es operada por las personas adecuadas y de la forma adecuada. Mucho peor sería para el entorno en el que está ubicada la central que en vez de ser nuclear fuera una térmica convencional.

Está claro que tiene sus inconvenientes como es el tema de los residuos y la peligrosidad de un supuesto accidente.

Por ello me uno a tu denuncia de que no se debe permitir bajo ningun concepto que se violen los protocolos de seguridad exigidos en la operación de la central pero nada más.

No pienso que la CN Cofrentes suponga una amenaza para su entorno, ya que como hemos dicho no se contamina la atmosfera y existe una vigilancia contínua del nivel de radiactividad en el entorno el cual es equivalente a una zona sin instalaciones nucleares. Los blindajes funcionan.

Por otro lado pones un link de una noticia de un incendio que hubo en un transformador de la central como si eso fuera una muestra de que aquello va a explotar de un momento a otro. No se si sabes que esa avería no tiene nada que ver con el hecho de que sea una central nuclear. Un transformador también puede quemarse en una térmica, una hidráulica, una eólica o una subestación y no supone mayor problema. Se trata de algo totalmente externo al reactor.

En fin; es un tema por el que hay que preocuparse pero no hay que meter miedo a la gente pensando que viven con una Chernobil al lado.

Si por mi fuera eliminaría todas las nucleares del mundo pero antes dadme una alternativa.

Respeto tus palabras pero no comparto tu opinión. ¿Te irías a vivir a 100 metros de este "monstruo"?...yo te digo que no, y como yo existe infinidad de gente en ese lugar que opina así y viven a menos de 100 m.
Siempre existirá la "típica" persona que defienda esa energía, como alternativa limpia y no contaminante, pero que le vamos a hacer...no comparto tu opinión de limpieza y contaminación.
