Very few people educate themselves to fully understand the history of Israel and what her people have endured. I fully want peace--yet fully support Israel and her people.

While I appreciate your thoughts and opinion, I don't think they are educated ones. Anyone concerned with Gaza should understand that this has been happening for 61 years now. It is one of the oldest armed conflicts occurring on our planet to date. As well, the people of Palestine elected Hamas to govern them. Any people that elect thugs and terrorists to govern them have to expect this to happen eventually.

Hamas has been sending thousands of rockets into Israel for the last few years--all unguided in hopes of spreading terror, fear and death into Israel. Those actions cannot go without retribution. Everyone is crying about the UN school that Israel hit--but only a few days ago, a Hamas rocket hit a UN school in southern Israel. Luckily, Israel had closed down all schools in southern Israel. Without that action by Israel--innocent children would have been killed by Hamas.

The only solution here is to eliminate Hamas. If the people of Palestine and Gaza will not remove Hamas themselves--then someone else will have to do it. The people of Palestine elected them--and they should remove them from power just the same.

Israel is not attacking the people of Palestine and Gaza--they are attacking Hamas.

For anyone here who is interested, there will be an Israel Solidarity Rally on Sunday Jan 11th at 11am. 42nd st at 2nd Avenue (across from the Israeli consulate) in NYC.

There will be rallies to show solidarity with Israel in many places on the 11th: blog.z-word.com/2009/01/rally-for-israel/

A lot of people were alarmed when recent demos ostensibly opposing the ops in Gaza were unabashedly anti-semitic, pro-Hamas and very ugly. They weren't peace rallies at all.
