Creole Room. Hotel Biloxi

    Newer Older

The Hotel Biloxi was once located on Beach Boulevard in Biloxi. The hotel opened in 1927 and was designed by architect Ira H. Coyne. Later called the Hotel MacArthur, the hotel eventually declined and was converted into a retirement home. It was demolished in January 1978. This post card view from the 1950s depicts post-war renovations inside. The building itself was a well built neo-colonial structure with four stories and graceful detailing. The oddly placed central column on the front portico always struck me as strange.
