Jolly Roger

Jolly Roger

Once owned by the Gill family, the Jolly Roger isn't as jolly as it used to be. Its jaunty Mid-Century main building used to be painted in ice cream colors instead of the mud color it now cowers under. The hotel is still in operation as the Sea Club.

28 Flavors

28 Flavors

The former Howard Johnson's in Fort Lauderdale Beach opened in 1966. It has been closed for several years, but there is a chance that the building will be reopened as some sort of hotel. I had lunch at the Atlantic Hotel next door yesterday and it doesn't look like much work is currently going on there, but work has been done at the site to clean up what had become a major eyesore. Maybe something will happen...

Poolside

Poolside

The Ramada Hotel in Jaipur was not the typical roadside Ramada. It was actually rather more like a Hilton and wasn't bad at all. This was the rooftop pool.

March on Washington

A pin from one of my father's boxes. I shall have to ask him about his experience attending the march.
