happiness-is-v-shaped

Did I forget to say it is fantastic!?
happiness-is-v-shaped by the tomahawk kid.
a year ago i realised that i really needed a fully electric mandolin to add to my arsenal of stage equipment...an instrument that wouldn't have a feedback problem when played through bigger PA rigs...but i also wanted something special to me personally and so it was that i came up with the concept of the flying 'v' mandolin...a mandolin echoing the famous lines of the gibson guitars...i took the idea to the people at oakwood instruments who were responsible for building my first mandolin and they got excited about the project and started sketching little bits and pieces and discussing various woods and veneers and ways of making this special instrument...after waiting a whole year i finally picked it up on august 26 this year...the wait was more than worth it and the instrument itself superb...tonight i'm going to go out and introduce it to its first audience...let's rock!!...

Congratulations; it looks like a work of art in its own right. I never realized there was such a thing as an electric mandolin--that must produce a very unique sound.

Man, that is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. A flying-V mandolin. You are going to be the envy of everyone on the pub circuit. Record a bit of it and post it to the "Voices" group!

So you got one to match the flying V Uke?

I've been thinking about getting a Rickenbacker 320-style mandolin made. I've seen one years ago in "Making Music".

Meanwhile, here's my Uke :
