Dr. Allen Jefferson Jeter
Dr. Allen Jefferson Jeter seated at a table in his office in his self-owned Jeter Building in Clinton, Custer County, Oklahoma, date unknown. He was my grandfather's older brother and one of 5 Jeter brothers who became doctors. He was born on Valentine's Day, 14 Feb 1862 in Union Parish, Louisiana shortly before the family moved to east Texas. He married in 1901 to Anna Syrepta Spradley and they had one son; James Rolater Jeter who also became a doctor. James had two sons and they too became doctors. Allen died in Clinton, Custer, OK in 1929 and is buried there. Anna later moved to Ennis, TX to live with her son when she died and she is buried with Allen in Clinton, Oklahoma.
