Susan Seale Jeter 1840-1920
Susan Seale Jeter was my maternal great grandmother. She was born 13 Mar 1840 in Jasper County, Mississippi and married Allen William Jeter (1832-1907) in 1861. Susan was the daughter of Daniel Boone Seale, a Captain of the 38th Mississippi Infantry during the Civil War, her husband Allen was also in the CSA serving as a nurse and was a POW. Susan died on 23 June 1920 in Wills Point, Van Zandt County, Texas and is buried there in White Rose Cemetery. Her five sons all became doctors and one was also an ordained minister. One of her daughters was a missionary to China with Lottie Moon for 20 years.
