WHAT?
PDFs ready for large-format printing. (90 x 90 cm = ~ 35 x 35 in). Featuring solstices, equinoxes, moon phases and holidays; versions for Brazil, USA and UK are available, as well as generic northen and southern hemisphere versions with no holidays. Intended to use as a year planner, lots of white space for writing stuff down. At the end of the year you'll have a nice memento.
HOW?
Generated by automating Adobe Illustrator with a Javascript. Source included, so you can roll your own, with custom holidays, birthdays etc.
WHY?
It's based on the Celtic wheel of the year, but with a twist. In agrarian societies, time is seen as an eternal cycle. In our (post) industrial society, we see time as an arrow shooting straight to the future, but at the same time our calendars are these little boxes that repeat over and over again and go nowhere. I wanted to design a calendar that would combine the idea of cyclic time with the idea of progress, thus the spiral calendar was born. It is actually a segment of a spiral, almost circular, but at the end of the cycle you don't return to the beginning, but start a new one.
BETA?
Beta means I've checked the holidays and moon phases for all the regions, but there's still an OCD feeling that I might've made a mistake somewhere, so before you print yours out do us both a favor and check it again, let me know if you find something. tom_b_420 at yahoo dot com, put "CALENDAR" somewhere in the title so your msg will be whitelisted.

Pensado para ser usado como uma agenda do ano, bastante espaço em branco para anotar coisas. No fim do ano você terá uma lembrança legal do ano que rolou.
COMO?
Gerado automatizando o Adobe Illustrator com um Javascript. Código fonte incluído, você pode criar o seu, customizando feriados, aniversários, etc.
POR QUE?
Baseado na roda do ano celta, mas com uma diferença. Em sociedades agrárias, o tempo é visto como um ciclo eterno. Na nossa sociedade (pós) industrial, vemos o tempo como uma seta apontando para o futuro, mas ao mesmo tempo nossos calendários são caixinhas que se repetem e não vão pra lugar nenhum. Eu queria desenhar um calendário que combinasse a idéia do ciclo com a idéia do progresso, daí surgiu o calendário espiral. É na verdade um segmento de espiral, quase circular, mas no fim do ciclo você não volta ao começo, mas começa um novo.
BETA?
Beta significa que eu conferi os feriados e fases da lua para todas as regiões, mas ainda tem uma sensação meio TOC que tem um erro em algum lugar, então antes de imprimir o seu faça um favor pra nós dois e dê uma checada, avisa se achar algum erro. tom_b_420 arroba yahoo ponto com, coloque "CALENDARIO" em algum lugar no título pra sua mensagem não ir parar no meio do spam.
